Individually Handcrafted Dog Beds & Accessories

Ivy & Duke is a family run business based in Manchester, UK. We’ve always had a passion for dogs and design – So, in 2017, after 35 years working with upholstery, soft furnishings and interior design, we decided to combine it with our love for our furry friends and set up Ivy & Duke.

Spurred on by a lack of high-quality, comfortable and practical handmade beds that also look good across multiple rooms, we designed and created a range of dog beds that offer ultimate comfort and support to dogs, while also being practical and stylish for their owners.

Our range of beds provides outstanding orthopaedic support to your dog whilst containing premium, British sourced fabrics that are individually handcrafted to look and feel amazing, around the home while also being utterly practical!

We produce all of our dog beds, blankets, pillows, tote bags and accessories right here in Manchester. Each product is individually handcrafted to the highest quality by our team of 13 experienced and skilled crafters. The small details are important to us; that’s why we make our beds and accessories to-order from premium materials that are carefully sourced from local businesses.

The Team:

We do not mass produce our beds; each of our dog bed orders are carefully hand crafted on demand (to bespoke sizes, if needed) and can take between 2-10 days to make. Our dedicated team of artisan seamstresses and cutters, based on-site in Manchester, have honed their skills and craftsmanship at Ivy & Duke since its inception.

Our focus on traditional manufacturing methods and quality materials means that we can be sure we offer the most robust, well-built and practical dog beds and accessories to you, our customer. Each of our beds goes through a rigorous process to ensure the quality of each bed. Including;

Cutting all the fabric/waterproof panel sections and to create the bed cover.
Constructing the 3 individual fabric layers of the bed:

  1. blowing the fibre into a corovin inner (1st layer) for each bolster
  2. making up a 2nd layer a waterproof interliner for each bolster
  3. putting each bolster into the outer fabric/waterproof cover

Quality Control:

Rigorous testing and checking of every bed, including;

  1. all zips working
  2. snipping off any spare threads
  3. re-checking the fabric quality and finish

Even after quality control, our packers make sure everything is just right before any of our dog beds and accessories are shipped. Including;

  1. ensuring the bed is fully plumped
  2. making sure the bed ‘sits’ correctly, with no unexpected lumps and bumps

We love the personal touch and individualism that our process affords; whether it’s our range of 11 different fabric and 5 colour ways, our free personalisation service or the handwritten notes we send out with our templates.

That attention to the small details and extra touches is what sets us apart.
